Rare clean sweep of women’s J15 single event

Crews from Muckross Rowing Club made their mark at the Castleconnell Head of the River Regatta in Limerick at the weekend and, undeterred by the heavy rain on the day, they brought home a number of titles.

Muckross won the women’s cub double, the men’s J14 quad, the women’s J15 quad, the women’s J14 double and the women’s J15 single.

The club was second in the men’s J18 quad, women’s J18 quad, men’s J18 double, women’s J16 dingle (Faye O’Neill), men’s J16 Single (Ian Coffey) and men’s J15 octuple.

Muckross also finished third in a number of events, including the women’s J16 single (Grace O’Connor), men’s masters single (Danny Lyne), women’s J16 quad and men’s masters quad.

A big club highlight of the day saw a rare feat for a Head of the River event with Muckross placing first, second and third in the women’s J15 single, courtesy of the efforts of Rachel Fuller, Angelina Kenny and Abigeal Real.
