Rail cruise to roll into Killarney

AN exclusive rail cruise, which will involve an eight-day private tour train with overnight stops in a number of locations, including Killarney, has been planned for early September.

The Emerald Pullman tour will depart from Dublin’s Connolly Station on September 5 and it will roll into Killarney on the second day where passengers will be checked into the Great Southern Hotel for two nights. The tour will then recommence with destinations in Ennis, Limerick, Galway, Connemara and Belfast.

The specially chartered three carriage train will have an executive feel with each table dressed in crisp white linen and decorated with flowers and passengers will be served by white-coated attendants.

The Emerald Pullman – operated by Railtours Ireland in association with Iarnród Éireann – special rail cruise of Ireland will mark the recommencement of the rail tour business after 18 months of no tourism activity.

The train has 190 seats but just 68 will be used in line with current social distancing and hygiene measures. The cost of the eight-day tour is €2,832 per person.
