
THE exciting spectacle of cycle circuit-racing comes to Killarney on Tuesday, July 6 when Killarney Racecourse will host a round of the Munster Youth League cycling competition.
Run by Killarney Cycling Club, the racing will take place on the road surrounding the track and, according to club chairman, Mark Murphy, it is superb venue.
“This must be the best venue in Ireland for youth cycle racing, with no traffic, magnificent views and spectators being able to view the action from the stands,” he said.

Mark added that Killarney Cycling Club and the Munster Cycling Federation are extremely grateful to be facilitated at the venue.
Chairman of Killarney Race Company, Gerard Coughlan, after the lockdown, they are happy to help the best young cycle racers of Munster get back into much-needed competition and in a safe environment.
“The pandemic has brought a new awareness about how we can use our facilities and we are happy to be able to play our part in helping these young cyclists get back into their sport again after the lockdowns,” he said.
The racing will commence at 7.00pm with events at under 12, under 14 and under 16 level and everybody is welcome.
