Quiz stars reach national finals

THE River Island Hotel in Castleisland was the venue on Good Friday evening for the county final of the Community Games under 14 quiz in which 22 teams participated. Kilcummin were just two marks behind the leaders at the halfway stage and finished level with Spa/Fenit/Barrow at the end of Round 10, thereby forcing a five-question play-off to determine the winners.

Digging deep for answers, Kilcummin answered all five questions correctly to win by the narrowest of margins in a tension-filled finale.  Heartiest congratulations to our team who showed an incredible level of general knowledge on the night.

Liadáin O’Connor, Béibhin Brosnan, Micheál Sweeney and Con Fleming head to the All-Ireland finals in Athlone in August to represent Kerry and Kilcummin. A super team performance and a special word of thanks to Jason O’Connor for his help and guidance in preparing the team. Well done one and all.
