Public urged to take caution on all routes

A WEATHER warning has been issued for Kerry this Wednesday night and into Thursday with snow and ice likely forecast in addition to a very real threat of strong winds which could cause damage.

Met Éireann said there is a possibility of snow accumulations of up to five centimeters in some areas but it will be transitioning to rain in the south of the country on Thursday night.

A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Kerry and the rest of Munster from 8.00am this Thursday until 8.00am on Friday with strong to gale force southeast winds in conjunction with rain, sleet and snow leading to poor visibility and hazardous conditions.

Kerry County Council is advising people to travel with caution on all routes on Thursday.
