
Kerry hotshot William Shine has been named the best under 20 performer in Munster following a succession of super performances for Tomás Ó Sé’s side on their way to provincial glory.
A prolifi cscoring sensation, he has been awarded the EirGrid Under 20 Munster Player of the Province award in recognition of his pace and tremendous skill in all the games to date.
The Killarney Legion sharpshooter – a former Hogan Cup and Corn Uí Mhuirí star with St Brendan’s College – has been a cut above the rest in Munster this year and his performance in the provincial final against Cork was no different.
Kerry’s convincing victory over the Rebels saw Shine notch six influential scores.
Down’s Oisin Savage won the Ulster award, Kildare’s Ryan Sinkey scooped the Leinster prize and Sligo captain Canice Mulligan was named the top player in Connacht.
Kerry play Sligo in the All-Ireland semi-final at Pearse Stadium in Galway on Saturday at 4.45pm.
