KILLARNEY supporters of the Kerry branch of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association will turn out in great style at a gala social event to generate funds for the charity.

The Primrose Black Tie Gala Ball will take place in the Ballygarry House Hotel, Tralee on Friday, April 17 and supporters of the organisation in Killarney have been urged to book their tickets early.

The event is being organised by the family of Tommy Brosnan, from Tralee, who passed away last Summer after a five-month battle with the illness.

His daughter, Kate, remarked: “We wanted to remember the wonderful person who was my dad and to raise awareness and funds for the IMNDA who provided much needed support and assistance to our family during his illness.

“We felt it was fitting to host a Primrose Ball in April, as Spring time was my dad’s favourite time of year.”

Tickets are priced at €100 and the evening will include a pre-drinks reception, five- course meal with wines, surprise celebrity guest appearances, an auction and post dinner musical entertainment.

The mater of ceremonies will be Newstalk presenter and journalist, Jonathan Healy. To purchase tickets visit http://imnda.ie/shop/ or telephone 087-2920432.
