Talented athletes from St Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School in Killarney competed in the Kerry Cross Country Running Championships in Killarney National Park, at Knockreer, and they were thrilled with their individual and team performances.
Months of preparation and sheer hard graft in training paid off when they produced a string of fine performances that gave the school – located just across the road – plenty of reason to celebrate.
The St Brigid’s junior team clinched first place, the minor team secured a commendable third place and the and the senior team achieved an impressive second position.
It was a memorable day in particular, for second year student, Kirsten Kenny, who won the individual junior race.
