
KERRY Airport insisted today that it is prepared to implement “robust operational procedures” in the unlikely event of a COVID-19 issue arising at the facility.
In a statement issues to KillarneyToday.com, chief executive, John Mulhern, said officials in Farranfore had meetings with and updates from the relevant government agencies, including the Departments of Health and Environment, the HSE and the Irish Aviation Authority, to discuss the ongoing containment polices for the Coronavirus.

“The situation is and remains changeable and the airport is prepared. We are grateful to all agencies for their ongoing support,” he said.
“The management team are reassured that the risk to Kerry Airport remains low. However we are prepared with robust operational procedures and action plans should the situation change,” Mr Mulhern stated,
Kerry Airport pointed out that the most up-to-date advice or links to travel information are available at www2.hse.ie and the best advice is for people to wash their hands properly and regularly and cover their mouth and nose with a tissue or a sleeve when coughing or sneezing.
