KERRY is showing its smart side thanks to an innovative collaboration between the progressive community in west Kerry and ESB Networks.

A number of locals were selected as ESB Ambassadors and representatives from the company were in Dingle this week some of the initiatives carried out to date.

This has included the deployment of 30 solar PVs and 20 batteries with three deep retrofits and three air source heat pump installations underway.

Smart technology has also been installed on the local network while the company are also scoping electric vehicle trials for 2020.

The Chairman of ESB, Ellvena Graham, OBE, and ESB’s Chief Executive Pat O’Doherty were among the company heads that saw the progress being made on the ground and they also visited a number of local community initiatives supported by the Dingle project.
