GARDAI in Killarney are urgently seeking information on the whereabouts of local man Matt Hodd who has been reported missing since this morning.
The 42-year-old, from Coolies, Muckross, was last seen in the Whitebridge-Ballycasheen area at 11 o’clock this Friday morning and Gardai and his family have concerns for his welfare.
A major search operation has been taking place throughout the day with Gardai joined by the Kerry Mountain Rescue Team, Civic Defence, Killarney Water Search and Recovery Unit and the Irish Coastguard helicopter service.
Mr Hodd has very distinctive features with long hair and a full beard. He is well known in the town and is very actively involved in the promotion of open air poetry sessions in the national park.
Anybody that might have seen a man fitting his description or might have any information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact Killarney Garda Station on 064-6631222.
