IT might drive the purists mad but it’s being billed as the table quiz in which you can use your phone.
And the dialling will get underway in O’Shea’s Bar in Milltown this week in what is the latest in a series of fundraisers for Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí 2018 which will take place in Milltown in June.
The local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is running a quiz league called Brains of the Parish and at this Friday night’s event participants will be allowed to use their phones and Google to their heart’s content.
The table quiz will get underway at 8.00pm and those looking to blow away the Christmas cobwebs and get their brains back in gear for the new year are welcome to take part.
“Sometimes at a table quiz, the answer is on the tip of your tongue and you’d love to use Google to find the answer. Well at this quiz, you can use Google or phone a friend as often as you like,” said Fleadh 2018 chairman and quizmaster, Owen O’Shea.
“You’d be surprised what Google can’t tell you, though, and you can’t find an answer to every question on the internet,” he said.
There will be a wide variety of questions on the night and plenty of surprises along the way. Teams of four can enter for €40 and there will be spot prizes and plenty of entertainment on the night.
Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí takes place in Milltown from 20 to 24 June 2018 and five days and nights of top-quality traditional music and entertainment are assured.
