A COLOURFUL Killarney restaurateur has been snapped up to front an exciting new food series which will be beamed into homes in many parts of the world by Irish TV.
Paul Treyvaud was such a hit with viewers in the new station’s debut season that he has been signed to present eight new episodes which will entertain as well as inform.
The first episode of the news series will be broadcast on Wednesday, February 18 (9.00pm) and the game-for-a-laugh Paul is promising great viewing for people of all ages.
“It’s all about great family recipes that even the most novice of cooks can recreate in their own homes,” said Paul who runs the award-winning Treyvaud’s Restaurant with his chef brother, Mark, on High Street.
“While there will be a serious side to it, there will also be the usual fun and laughter along the way to keep people entertained,” he said.
On the menu for this series will be some traditional favourites – with a Treyvaud’s twist – and the focus will turn to dishes like beef stew and wholesome chicken broth, some unusual dishes like rabbit and curing your own food at home.
“We will also have some old-fashioned classics done the way our ancestors would be proud of. There will be some cracking recipes that will have viewers rushing to the kitchen to try out,” Paul added.
The outspoken restaurateur has signed a deal for two more series on Irish TV and he has also just been confirmed as one of the chefs to demonstrate his skills at this year’s Killarney Festival of Music and Food in June.
