The contribution to the GAA by a popular Killarney publican is to be celebrated in style in the Big Apple.
Kerry County Board Chairman, Patrick O’Sullivan, is to be honoured by the influential County Kerry Patriotic and Benevolent Association of New York at a gala celebration on Friday, March 24.
He will be the special guest at the $130-a-head gathering to be held in the Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester and the Sam Maguire cup will also be showcased on the night.
Born in the US and living in Killarney since 1975, the son of the legendary Eddie ‘Tatler’ O’Sullivan and the late Bridie, Patrick (55) is a former Dr Crokes goalkeeper who went on to become one of the most respected and successful administrators in the game.

He has been chairman of his beloved Dr Crokes club and he is currently enjoying his second term as Chairman of the Kerry County Executive.
Considered an outstanding fundraiser for Kerry teams, through his extensive contacts in the US and elsewhere, he previously served as development officer with the county board and he spearheaded the development of the Centre of Excellence at Currans which was built at a cost of €8 million.
Patrick was also instrumental in the organisation of the Win a House in Killarney draw undertaken by the board last year.
He was previously chairman of the board from 2012 to 2016 before going on to represent Kerry as a Central Council delegate and he was again elected to the post of chairman, succeeding Tim Murphy, when defeating Eamonn Whelan by 127 to 112 votes in a contest for the vacant position.
Under O’Sullivan’s watch, Kerry won the All-Ireland senior title last year for the first time since 2014.
Patrick and his wife, Frances, have three grown up children, Zoe, Laura and TJ.
