Passing of the much loved Bríd Sugrue

The late Bríd Sugrue

THE death has occurred in Killarney of Bríd Sugrue (nee Kelly) who was the sister of the late great actor and seanchai Eamon Kelly and a talented thespian in her own right.

A much-loved retired primary school teacher, she was a very active member of the Dochas Drama Group in Killarney and she played leading roles in many productions down through the years.

In latter years Mrs Sugrue was a very active supporter in the Killarney Arts Bursary which was an awards scheme set up in memory of her late brother and administered by Killarney Municipal District Council and the Killarney Arts Group.

From Park Road, Killarney and formerly of Carigeen, Ironmills, Mrs Sugrue was predeceased by her husband Seán and she is survived by her daughters Sheila, Joan and Breda and son, Brian, her grandchildren Gemma, John, Eva and Maitias, son-in-law Joe, daughter-in-law Maureen, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, other relatives and a very wide circle of friends.

Reposing at O’Shea’s Funeral Home, Killarney on Sunday evening from 4.00pm to 6.00pm. removal will take place afterwards to the Church of the Resurrection, Park Road with Requiem Mass on Monday at 10.30am. Burial will take place afterwards in Gneeveguilla Cemetery.
