THE death has occurred in Killarney of Mrs Anne Galvin (née O’Donoghue) whose family are very closely associated with the Dr Crokes GAA Club.
She passed away, peacefully, on Friday at her home on Muckross Road.
Her sons, Colm, Jerry and Donnacha, were accomplished footballers who played with the Dr Crokes club for many years and her grandson, Michael Potts, one of the most talented young players in the county, is a member of the current Kerry senior panel.
Predeceased by her husband John, a building contractor, Mrs Galvin is survived by her daughters Sheila, Eileen, Mary, Catherine, Agatha, Anne, Dora, Nuala and Margaret, sons Colm, Jerry and Donnacha, her 38 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by her daughters-in-law Maura, Bernie and Sinéad and sons-in-law Eugene Dunne, Martin Dunne, Philip White, Terry Potts, Tom Campbell, Gerry Burke and Tim Hickey.
Predeceased by her sisters Eileen and Agatha and her brothers Rodger, Michael and Johnny, Pre-deceased by her sisters Eileen and Agatha and her brothers Rodger, Michael and Johnny, Mrs Galvin is also survived by her sister Mary Wagner, sisters-in-law Kay O’Donoghue and Ronnie Galvin, nieces, nephews and many good friends.
