Passing of a gentle and very popular lady

The late Mrs Mary Murrell

THE death has occurred this Thursday of Mrs Mary Murrell from Rock Road, Killarney whose daughter, Moira, is the Chief Executive of Kerry County Council.

Mrs Murrell, née O’Driscoll and formerly of Clydine, Kilcummin, passed away in the care of care of the matron and staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Care Facility, Kilcummin.

A gentle, good humoured and very popular lady who had worked with Kerry County Council at its offices off St Margaret’s Road, Killarney, Mrs Murrell was predeceased by her husband, Charlie, in 2008.

She is survived by her children Breda, John, Margaret and Moira, sons-in-law Donal O’Callaghan and Brendan O’Neill, daughter-in-law Ursula and her much loved grandchildren, Mairead, Donnacha, Liam, Jack, Sarah, Dan, Patrick, MaryAnna and Charles.

Predeceased by her brother Dan O’Driscoll, she is further survived by her sister, Julia Fitzgerald, nieces Margaret and Maura, her grandniece Caitriona, relatives, her neighbours on Rock Road and many friends.

Reposing at O’Shea’s Funeral Home, Killarney on this Friday from 4.00pm to 6.30pm, removal will take place afterwards to St Mary’s Cathedral.

Requiem Mass will be on Saturday at 10.30am with burial afterwards in Aghadoe Cemetery, Killarney.

The family has asked for donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Resident Activity Fund.
