A detailed insight into life in Kerry during the Civil War was presented to an enthralled audience at an engaging lecture as part of a series of autumn season talks in Killarney National Park.

Author and historian Owen O’Shea, from Milltown, reflected on the terror, turmoil and trauma in the county during the bloody conflict, the legacy it left and fallout it caused.
His talk attracted a capacity audience to Killarney House and Gardens and those in attendance were fascinated by the detail shared.
Owen, whose day job is media and communications officer with Kerry County Council. is the author of several books, including No Middle Path, Ballymcandy: The Story of a Kerry Ambush and Heirs to the Kingdom: Kerry’s Political Dynasties.
He has recently completed a PHD at the School of History in University College Dublin with the support of the Irish Research Council.
