Members of the Killarney Soroptimists Club have backed the UN Orange the World campaign aimed at ending violence against women and girls.

The initiative encourages member of the public to organise a day of action and to wear something orange which, as a bright and optimistic colour, represents a future free from violence.

The Killarney Soroptimists marked 16 days of activism against gender-based violence by delivering hampers to the ADAPT refuge in Tralee.
“We felt this was our opportunity to join hands with activists, decision makers and people from every walk of life to shine a light on the need for funding services, prevention and data that shapes better informed responses,” said Sheila Casey of the Killarney Soroptimists
“Ending violence against women is everyone’s business,” she added.
