Operation Tarmac leads to another court appearance

A KILLARNEY man is due to appear at a sitting of Tralee District Court this Wednesday on money laundering charges.

This follows a joint investigation involving gardai from Killarney and the Criminal Assets Bureau.

The man is understood to be in his 50s and the charges arise from Operation Tarmac in November of 2017 which involved a number of Killarney houses being searched in a series of early morning raids by CAB officers and gardai.

It resulted in several high-end vehicles, huge amounts of cash and expensive jewellery being seized.

A total of 11 residential properties were raided in what was described as one of the biggest ever garda investigations in the Kerry area.
