ALL I want for Christmas is…. a half a ton of peat briquettes.
And that’s exactly what one Killarney family can look forward to after winning a practical home heating prize in a festive season draw.
When the O’Neill family of Lissivigeen Upper popped into the annual Browne’s Agri Christmas promotion in Castleisland little did they think that they would end up with a prize to keep the home fires burning.
Martina O’Neill and daughter, Caoimhe, put their names on the lucky ticket and they were accompanied by her husband, John, their two boys, Rian and Oran and granny, Ann McCarthy.
The Browne’s draw is now firmly established as a seasonal tradition and the store was packed to close to capacity for the final draw on Friday afternoon.
The company had a staggering 90,000 draw tickets printed and there was more than three quarters of them in the draw drum on the day.
The first prize of a €2,000 shopping voucher was won by Séamus Murphy, Meinleitrim, Knocknagoshel.
