Cian O’Neill is returning to the Kerry senior football set up as head coach, it has been confirmed.
He is parting company with Padraig Joyce and Galway – after a three-year stint – and joining Jack O’Connor as he returns to the Kingdom where he previously worked alongside Eamonn Fitzmaurice.
In addition to Galway,

O’Neill has also worked with the Mayo footballers and the Tipperary hurlers and managed the Kildare senior footballers for a number of years.
Former Kerry attacker turned TG4 analyst Aodán MacGearailt and ex Kerry minor boss James Costello will also join the set up as selectors while Pa McCarthy from Currow comes in assistant coach and Paddy Tally, from Tyrone, stays on as performance coach.
Strength and conditioning coaches for 2025 will be Jason McGahan and Arthur Fitzgerald while former All-Ireland winner Brian Kelly of Killarney Legion is the new goalkeeping coach.
Former selectors Micheál Quirke and Diarmuid Murphy are parting company with the squad.
All the proposed changes will go before a county committee meeting for ratification.
