
ONE new case of Covid-19 has been confirmed in Kerry this Friday bringing the total number of people infected with the virus in the county to 303.
Nationally there were 27 additional deaths confirmed today bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,429.
571 (40%) of the deaths occurred in a hospital environment with 69 (4.8%) in intensive care units.
1,232 of the patients that have died – or 86% – were reported as having underlying medical conditions.
719 of the deceased were male and 710 female, the median age was 81 and the mean age was 82.
The breakdown of ages of those who contracted the virus is as follows:
Aged under 4: 120
Aged 5-9: 108
Aged 10-14: 145
Aged 15-19: 357 (five or less deaths)
Aged 20-14: 1,026 (five or less deaths)
Aged 25-29: 1,719 (five or less deaths)
Aged 30-34: 1,970 (five or less deaths)
Aged 35-39: 1944 (six deaths)
Aged 40-44: 1,981 (five deaths)
Aged 45-49: 2,171 (nine deaths)
Aged 50-54: 1,949 (13 deaths)
Aged 55-59: 1,707 (30 deaths)
Aged 60-64: 1,262 (25 deaths)
Aged 65-69: 771 (69 deaths)
Aged 70-74: 910 (128 deaths)
Aged 75-79: 974 (180 deaths)
Aged 80-84: 1,241 (304 deaths)
Aged over 85: 2,329 (652 deaths)
The number of deaths for those under the age of 14 have not been released for patient confidentiality reasons.
