FIVE new cases of Covid-19, flagged yesterday for Kerry, were officially confirmed by senior public health officials this Thursday evening and that brings the total number of infections in the county to date to 362.
No additional case has been notified so the Kerry figures are not expected to increase further tomorrow.
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been informed of one additional death and 240 new cases of coronavirus.
There have now been 1,789 Covid-19 related deaths in Ireland and 32,023 known cases have been reported.
Of the cases notified today, 120 are female and 119 are make and 61 per cent are under 45 years of age.
47 per cent are confirmed to be associated with outbreaks or are close contacts of a previously confirmed case and 44 cases have been identified as community transmission
119 are in Dublin, 19 in Wicklow, 17 in Kildare, 16 in Donegal, 15 in Waterford, 10 in Limerick, eight in Cork, six in Louth and five in Wexford with the remaining 24 cases located in Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Galway, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Tipperary, Westmeath.
Medics have confirmed that they are now seeing a higher proportion of cases in older age groups.
