Oisín’s Poitín yarn to reach a wide audience

An Poitín, a mockumentary series to be broadcast on BLOC’s – TG4’s social media YouTube channel – was written and directed by Oisín Ó hEartáin, a documentary filmmaker from Corca Dhuibhne in West Kerry.

The award-winning creative has spent years making documentaries and is beginning to explore his drama roots through the medium of screen.

In this comedy-drama series, the audience is introduced to Braon Poitín, a curious but talented man, struggling to make his own way in the world, who decides to bring his poitín business to the international market – whichever way he can.

It will be broadcast on BLOC’s YouTube channel from Sunday, November 3 at 9.00pm.

An Poitín is part of the Glúin Nua scheme created to support emerging directors, writer, and creative producers to create short-form content in the Irish language.

It was created by TG4 in partnership with the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen’s Irish Language Broadcast Fund, Údarás na Gaeltachta and in association with Gréasán na Meán Skillnet.
