Not a bad duo to have on the bench

Paudie Clifford will lead the attack

Following his brilliant contribution when introduced against Monaghan, Paudie Clifford is in from the start but it is two of the substitutes that will lead to even more excitement for Kerry supporters as they prepare for the trip to Castlebar for Saturday night’s National League clash with Mayo.

David Clifford and Seanie O’Shea are both named on the bench for the game with the Fossa player returning after a short rest following a long season and the Kenmare sharpshooter back from injury.

The only change from the side that registered an emphatic 3-16 to 0-14 win against Monaghan at Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney in the last round sees Paudie Clifford replacing Adrian Spillane who does not feature on the matchday panel.

Donal O’Sullivan Down – superb against Monaghan – keeps his place at corner forward with Micheál Burns switching from the right to the left wing and Paudie Clifford leading the attack. Dara Roche and Tony Brosnan will man the full forward line with Kilgarvan’s O’Sullivan.

With Paul Murphy starting, there will also be some familiar faces on the bench for Rathmore supporters with Shane Ryan the reserve keeper and Brian Friel and Mark Ryan both included.

Jack Barry and Dingle’s Barry O’Sullivan continue their midfield partnership and the Kerry defence has a very solid look to it with Tadhg Morley again captaining his country from the centre half back position, flanked on either side by Gneeveguilla’s Pa Warren and Paul Murphy.

Shane Murphy of Dr Crokes – who has a powerful game against Monaghan – will continue between the posts at the expense of the 2022 All-Star netminder.
