Noel and Callum retain Lakes crown

Noel O’Sullivan and Callum Devine were the rally winners

Killarney’s Noel O‘Sullivan partnered Derry driver Callum Devine as they comfortably retained their Rally of the Lakes title following two days of great action.

They powered their VW Polo GTi R5 to victory in round four of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship after taking the lead on the fourth stage to edge out Robert Barrable and Gordon Noble in their Citroen C3.

Josh Moffett and Andy Hayes in a Hyundai were in third position.

Local crew Rob Duggan and Ger Conway were well in contention and looked the most likely to succeed all through but they crashed out in the penultimate stage.

Alan Ring and Adrian Deasy finished ninth in their VW Polo.

Duncan Williams and Guy Weaver, in their Ford Escort RS1800 won the historic categooy while Darragh O’Donovan and Michael White in a Honda Civic triumphed in the junior category.
