The four-star Lake Hotel in Killarney has just reopened for the 2024 tourist season with a number of new and prestigious awards adorning the walls.
Like in previous years, the Huggard family has invested in the enhancement of the hotel to maintain the highest standard for guests with major renovations over the winter months including the extensive refurbishment of the multi-award winning Castlelough Restaurant, the revamp of 20 bedrooms, including the addition of a luxurious family suite, and the commencement of an exciting 2024 project in the hotel’s wellness centre.
Facing into the season ahead, The Lake Hotel also received some major awards in the Virgin Media Business Gold Medal awards.

It won the silver medal in Ireland’s four-star resort category while the bronze medal for chef of the year was awarded to the hotel’s executive chef, Noel Enright.
Sales and Marketing Manager, Sheila O’Callaghan, said featuring among the winners in two categories awards is a wonderful start to the season.
“We couldn’t be prouder of our amazing team. Without their hard work and commitment, accolades like these would not be possible,” she said.
The Lake Hotel is a four-star family owned property and has been in the Huggard family name for over 100 years.
