Gifted chef Neven Maguire will be rustling up some very special treats from Killarney this Christmas.

He has just spent a few days in the fabulous surrounds of Muckross House and Traditional Farms filming a festive season special during which he will create all the old favourites – and a few surprises as well.

Undoubtedly the most popular celebrity chef in Ireland, Neven owns and runs award-winning MacNean House and Restaurant in Blacklion, Co Cavan as well as an in-demand, purpose-built cooking school.

He has had several smash hit television cookery specials – at home and abroad – and he is also the author of a number of bestselling cookbooks.

Neven’s Christmas special is sure to be a winner in the ratings as he has a massive following and, as a real bonus, his Killarney programme will also take in many of the scenic local attractions and the national park which should make it a valuable marketing tool for Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.

He is particularly popular for his understated, no-nonsense and genuine approach to all things cooking and, perhaps predictably, his restaurant is one of the busiest in the country.
