A JOURNEY back in time to examine life in Ireland during the revolutionary decade is being planned for the Muckross schoolhouse in Killarney National Park to offer a rare glimpse of life as lived in the country from 1912 to 1923.
Members of staff from the UCC School of History will discuss the historical significance of the period under review and a number of historical societies will have memorabilia offering those in attendance much to read and examine.
The free admission event, which will run from 12 noon to 5pm next Saturday, will offer a fascinating glimpse back through the decades
Ireland’s Revolutionary Decade Roadshow is being organised by UCC, Kerry County Council, Kerry County Museum and the Trustees of Muckross House.
The roadshow, which has already been staged in two locations, has attracted several hundred people.
The first time the exhibition was staged, in Clonakilty, Co Cork, it attracted international attention as it featured the last known photographs of General Michael Collins prior to his death at Béal na mBláth in 1922.
