VINTAGE car enthusiasts from all parts of Ireland and overseas will congregate in Killarney on August 9 for the annual Ted’s Opel Vauxhall Run which is one of the social highlights of the year for veteran motor lovers.

The array of cars on show will vary from the early 1970s to current models and it is estimated that up to 70 vehicles will be featured.

The procession of cars will travel through a section of the Wild Atlantic Way and the Dingle Peninsula as well as some roads used as Rally of the Lakes stages before returning to the newly named Killarney Hotel via Moll’s Gap. There will be a stop for lunch at Páidí Ó Sé’s pub in Ventry where a number of awards will be presented to participants.

The event, organised by Macroom man Ted O’Connell and now in its sixth year, is one of the largest in the Opel and Vauxhall calendar in Ireland and there will also be a great social side to the celebrations.
