More familiar look to Kerry team

ALTHOUGH the result matters little, with a place in the final already out of reach, the Kerry team to face Tipperary in the McGrath Cup on Sunday is a more familiar side than the starting 15 that took to the field against Clare last weekend.

Eleven of the match day squad from last year’s All Ireland final are in the panel and nine of those will start in Tipperary town at 2.00pm

Four of last week’s starting 15 retain their place and there are two from Dr Crokes and two from Legion in the starting line-up and two more Legion players on the bench.

Kilcummin’s very own All-Star Brendan Kealy is between the posts and Rathmore’s Paul Murphy also returns.

Interestingly, Tommy Walsh will start at midfield alongside his Kerins O’Rahilly’s clubmate David Moran.

The team, captained by Renard’s Killian Young is: Brendan Kealy (Kilcummin); Briain Ó Beaglaoich (An Ghaeltacht); Mark Griffin (St Michael’s Foilmore); Fionn Fitzgerald (Dr Crokes); Paul Murphy (Rathmore); Killian Young (Renard); Padraig O’Connor (Killarney Legion); David Moran (Kerins O’Rahillys); Tommy Walsh (Kerins O’Rahillys); Philip O’Connor (Cordal); Johnny Buckley (Dr Crokes); Jamie O’Sullivan (Killarney Legion); Barry John Keane (Kerins O’Rahillys); Alan Fitzgerald (Castlegregory); Stephen O’Brien (Kenmare).

Subs: Brian Kelly (Killarney Legion); Jonathan Lyne (Killarney Legion); Tom O’Sullivan (Dingle); Paul O’Sullivan (Valentia); Wayne Guthrie (Austin Stacks); Conor Cox (Listowel Emmets).
