Minister of State for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Brendan Griffinm and Fáilte Ireland officials had to battle with the elements to get the job done with a heavy downpour and strong winds threatening to play spoilsport.

The fabulous photo point and interpretation panel were created by Fáilte Ireland in collaboration with the Office of Public Works, Kerry County Council, key stakeholders and local historians.

The aim is to bring the stories the local area to life for visitors to Carrigafoyle Castle and other selected photo points along the Wild Atlantic Way.

With the support of the Irish Language Commissioner, an Irish place name plaque has also been installed at the Discovery Point.
