A Killarney primary school has won a number of prizes, including a special sports goods hamper, in a promotion to celebrate World School Mile Day organised by the National Dairy Council and Agri Aware.
The event was marked all over the world to celebrate the benefits and success of school milk programme which was initiated in September 2000 and has since become an annual event promoted by the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations.
As part of this year’s celebrations, the National Dairy Council ran a competition for schools signed up to the programme and Gaelscoil Faithleann were the recipients for the Kerry region, winning a number of prizes.
