LEGENDARY broadcaster Micheál Ó Muiorcheartaigh presided at an informative talk and debate about the game of hurling at the schoolhouse in Killarney National Park at Muckross on Saturday.
The keynote speaker was Kilkenny hurling legend Eddie Keher who is recognised as one of the true greats of the game.
Former Cork hurler and Sunday Game analyst Tomás Mulcahy also contributed as did the GAA’s national hurling director Paudie Butler and Tipperary author and hurling expert Seamus J King.
The seminar, which did not attract as many hurling club members as had been hoped, also featured an open debate on the future of hurling and its importance as the national sport and there was a hurling-related photographic presentation from decades past in association with the Irish Photo Archive.
