
THE sparkling memory tree located in the grounds of the Holy Cross Mercy National School in Killarney will be lit again for the festive season and it was illuminate New Road from December 11 until the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6.
Those being commemorated by through the purchase of lights will be remembered at a special Mass in St Mary’s Cathedral at on 1.30pm on Wednesday, December 18 and all are welcome to attend.
The project, an important annual fundraiser for the school, will see the lights being lit every night over Christmas with the big switch-on ceremony scheduled for 7.00pm on Wednesday, December 11.
Lights can be ordered in memory of a loved one for a suggested donation of €5. They are available from local outlets, the Holy Cross Mercy School on New Road, staff members and pupils and members of the Parents’ Association.
“We thank everyone who has supported this initiative in the past as it is an extremely important fundraiser for our school,” said project coordinator Rhonda Healy.
