At a recent committee meeting it was decided over the winter months to implement a ‘members only’ competitions policy effective from November 1 until the start of February at the earliest. Pre-arranged bookings for outings will still be accepted bythe club and can be made via either the club phone 087-7823138 or our e- mail: office@deerparkpitchandputt.com
There was a good turnout of 25 last Sunday morning for our first weekend of the Christmas Turkeys, sponsored by Tim Jones Butchers, as we needed countback to decide two of our four prizes on the day.
Results: (Two Ball Scramble): Overall Nett: Robbie O’Brien Snr Aidan O’Keeffe 32 1/2 (B6), Overall Gross: John McGrath and Jason O’Connor 41, Second Nett: Lee O’Callaghan and Michael Cotter 32 ½, Mixed Nett: Noel Moynihan and Betty O’Brien 36 1/2 (B9), Hole-in- One Draw: Ger Casey and Michael Foley. This Sunday it will be the same times again of 9.15am and 11.15am but next weekend’s format will be Fourball Betterball. Entry open to club members aged 15 or over with a fee of €4 per draw and a fee of €7 for both.
Under 16: Our pre-Christmas under 16 event will take place on Saturday, December 2 at 1pm with play over 18 holes. Further information to follow in due course.
Gathering: The club’s pre-Christmas gathering in Murphy’s Bar will take place on Friday, December 15 this year. Prizes for all outstanding competitions between the Open Three Ball Scramble, Christmas Hamper, Turkeys and Club Matchplay will be presented on the night. Also on the night there is a meal planned for Lord Kenmare’s beforehand for any member interested. Anyone who has not already made their interest known is asked to contact club PRO Jason O’Connor know as a number of places are still available.
AGM: Our 2018 AGM has been set for the night of Monday, January 15 in the Killarney Avenue Hotel. Further details in due course, contact the club if you require a nomination or motion form in the meantime.
