
An acclaimed Kerry traditional musician and singer is to feature in a new TG4 music series that is focusing on the Irish language sean-nós song tradition which is an integral part of country’s musical and cultural landscape.
Méabh Ní Bheaglaoich, from Baile na bPoc in Corca Dhuibhne, is a versatile musician, singer and composer and one of the well-known musical family of Beaglaoich.
She has travelled the world with her energetic instrumental playing and emotive and sensitive singing style and, in recent years. she started composing her own songs.
In the episode of Bláth na hÓige to be broadcast Thursday, April 27, at 8.00pm, it will trace Méabh’s great journey on an exciting adventure of artistic discovery, focusing on the musical tradition that goes to the very heart of the Gaelic tradition.
Her songs and music are thriving in a flourishing age of creativity and she is part of a new generation of young singers dedicated to the art of sean-nós singing with a refreshing confidence, pride and dedication.
