One Kerry family had good cause to join in the Clare All-Ireland celebrations which started early and finished late at the InterContinental Hotel in Dublin following Sunday’s brilliant All-Ireland hurling final.

Jenny McCarthy from Muckross, her brother Shane and their dad, Seán, were in Croke Park to cheer on the Banner and, in particular, to shout out their support for Jenny’s boyfriend David Reidy who was a key part of the Clare team.

He lined out at corner forward and contributed two crucial points as Brian Lohan’s side just about held on for a narrow one point victory.

The McCarthy clan joined in the victory party last night and thoroughly enjoyed the occasion, mixing with the stars who ensured the Liam McCarthy Cup was making its first journey back to Ennis since 2013.

Reidy has built up a great understanding with his Éire Óg club-mate Shane O’Donnell and that has been a real feature of Clare’s season which also saw them winning the national league.
