
The funeral arrangements have been confirmed for Mary Tangney, the popular mother-of-five from the Black Valley, who died in a tragic accident on her family farm in Gerahmeen on Friday.
Reposing at O’Shea’s Funeral Home, Killarney on Monday from 4.00pm to 6.30pm, the funeral is scheduled to arrive at St Mary’s Church, Beaufort on Tuesday morning for Requiem Mass at 11.30am. The Requiem Mass will be live-streamed on https://churchmedia.tv/st-marys-beaufort.
Burial will take place afterwards in Churchtown Cemetery, Beaufort.
A hugely popular community activist, who worked hard on the farm and in the home, Mary is survived by her husband Eugene (Genie), daughter Karen and sons Patie, Niall, Eugene and Donnacha.
She is further survived by her son-in-law Patrick, Eugene’s partner Eileen, brothers Michael, Neilie, Jim and Patrick, sisters Nora, Joan and Breda, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Mary, originally Dennehy from Grenagh in Fossa, was predeceased by her parents Con and Hanna.
