THE roads of Kerry have claimed their fourth victim of 2020.
It has been confirmed that man in his 70s has died following a single vehicle crash in Ballybunion at around noon yesterday and gardaí are asking any witnesses to come forward.
The accident happened shortly 12 noon yesterday on the Lartigue Road and the man was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Emergency services were alerted and the was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. His remains were removed to University Hospital Kerry where a post mortem examination will be carried out.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area between 11.30am and 12.30pm yesterday to come forward to any garda station or to contact Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111.
The man becomes the fourth person to die on the roads of the county since the start of the year and his death following an accident that claimed the life of a husband and wife at Kilcummin, Killarney and another male driver, aged in his 50, on the outskirts of Castleisland.
