Man, 41, found dead after fire

fire service signjpgA POST mortem examination is being carried out at Kerry General Hospital today on the body of a man who was found dead at his home in Glenbeigh on Thursday evening.

It is understood a fire in the sitting room of his home at Keelkeigh, near Mountain Stage, may have led to his death.

The man has been named locally as 41-year-old Brian Looney, a former footballer with Glenbeigh-Glencar, who was well-known and very popular in the area.

Gardai, led by Superintendent Flor Murphy from Killarney Garda Station, are conducting an investigation into the matter and the house has been examined by garda technical experts.
