A total of €1,350,000 in capital funding has been approved for Dingle Harbour through the Fishery Harbour and Coastal Infrastructure Development Programme.
It provides strategic investment in harbour infrastructure to attract increased landings into Ireland of sustainably caught fish, driving the development of the seafood processing sector and the blue economy in coastal communities.
The five projects in Dingle benefiting from this tranche of the funding are:
- Western Marina Extension: Dredging, floating breakwater and marina furniture: €50,000
- Remedial works to east side of the main pier: €300,000
- Western marina pontoon repairs: €700,000
- Renewable energy upgrade on all FHC buildings: €200,000
- East basin passenger pontoon replacement: €100,000
Announcing details, Education Minister and Kerry, Norma Foley said the funding will enhance, improve and enrich five key capital projects that are central to the continued development of the fishing and tourism industry in Dingle and the wider marine community.
