Magic in Muckross as Spillane headlines big night

John Spillane will be the headline act at this year’s Culture Night

BRILLIANT balladeer John Spillane will perform in a marquee under the night sky at Muckross Traditional Farm for the headline act of this year’s Kerry Culture Night on September 17.

At total of 40 free events have been planned to celebrate the rich and diverse creativity that is alive and treasured throughout the county and the Kerry County Arts Committee has been busy organising a programme of events to bring people together again to celebrate theatre, live music, literature and the arts in all its glorious forms.

Muckross will showcase the fabulous music, songs and stories from the hugely popular Spillane and, also in Killarney, the Fanzini Brothers will perform their clever tricks and hilarious circus skills outdoors at Killarney House and Gardens, while DB O’Connor will put on a rambling house event at ANAM with his show Pure.

Killarney Lake Tours will run two tours of Lough Leane with Sharon Langston of Celtic Steps on board to entertain the lucky passengers while, in St Mary’s Church of Ireland, Afro Trad Ireland will host a musical celebration of two ancient cultures in music, song and stories.

Culture Night is a great opportunity for people to come together and reconnect in cultural venues, theatres and museums and in the many spectacular outdoor locations that have been re-imagined.
