A FORMER Kerry TD continues to play his Trump card and he is anxious to invite the US President-elect to the Kingdom.
Cllr Thomas McEllistrim not only wants Kerry County Council to write to congratulate Donald Trump on his election but he wants him to be invited to Kerry.
The former Fianna Fail TD initially raised the matter at a meeting of the council in December and agreed to a request to defer the matter until after Mr Trump’s inauguration which takes place this Friday.
He has the issue back on the agenda for next Monday’s meeting of the local authority.
A number of councillors have raised concerns, however, with Cllr Donal Grady from Killarney insisting that he didn’t agree with the proposal, particularly given Mr Trump’s attitude to women, in some instances.
