KILLARNEY’S Mayor now has his official first lady.

Cllr Niall Kelleher got the vote of approval yesterday when solicitor Linda Gordon became his bride.

They were wed in St Mary’s Cathedral in a ceremony performed by Killarney curate Fr Niall Howard and Fr Pat O’Donnell who is parish priest in Niall’s native Rathmore.

Over 370 guests attended the ceremony which was followed by a lavish ceremony in the Great Southern Hotel.

Niall’s three brothers, Paudie, Donagh and Jack, returned home from Australia, to take up the bestman and groomsmen roles while Linda’s college pal, Alison Williams, jetted from the US to be chief bridesmaids along with family friend Aisling Clifford and her first cousin Sarah Gordon.

Linda’s daughter, Portia (10) was the junior bridesmaid and Niall’s five-year-old son, Noah Mayse-Kelleher was the pageboy. Other important duties on the day were assigned to Linda’s four-year-old nephew, Sean Gordon and Niall’s 16-month-old god-daughter Lily Mae Kelleher.

Niall’s term as Mayor of Killarney will draw to a close on June 25 and the newly-weds will head off two days later for a super honeymoon adventure on safari to Kenya and to Zanzibar.
