
The much-anticipated L’Étape Ireland will make its grand debut in Killarney this Saturday with up to 2,000 cycling enthusiasts set to explore Kerry’s beautiful cycling routes, including the Kingdom of Kerry Greenways.
This event, crafted in collaboration with the Tour de France organisers and local cyclists, promises an exciting opportunity to experience the thrills and challenges of a Tour de France stage in Ireland for the first time.
The start and finish points will be in Killarney town but beyond the thrill of the race, visitors to Kerry are encouraged to delve deeper into the Kingdom and discover its other routes including the stunning greenways, offering serene and picturesque routes for cyclists of all levels.
The 98km and 135km routes have been developed by Tour de France professionals with the start times fixed for 7.40am for the longer course and 7.55am for the other with both commencing at Port Road in Killarney.
Supporters, family members and Killarney residents are encouraged to join participants at the finish line to enjoy the L’Étape Ireland event village adjacent to St Mary’s Cathedral. Refreshments, music, stalls and Tour de France exhibits will be open to everyone and free to enter.
This is also where the Kids’ Cycle starts from and registration takes place. Registration is from 8.30am and the cycle starts at 9.30am.
