The late Enda was a very gifted chef

THE death has occurred in Killarney of Enda Joyce who was a very gifted chef and enjoyed a long and distinguished career with the Killarney Great Southern Hotel.

A native of Galway, he lived in Pinewood Estate and he was very well known and well liked in Killarney.

During his time in the Great Southern, he cooked for numerous visiting dignitaries, including Taoisigh, government ministers and stars and stage and screen.

A very talented musician, Enda and his wife, Eleanor, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family just two years ago.

He is survived by Eleanor, daughters Catriona and Fiona, son Ciarán, son-in-law Martin, Fiona’s partner Shipo, Ciarán’s partner Denise and his much loved grandchildren Aoife, Lorcan, Tara, Saoirse and Matthew.

He is further survived by his brothers Tom and Padraic, sisters Mairín, Caitlín, Rosaleen and Bernie, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and many other relatives and friends.

Reposing at O’Shea’s Funeral Home, Killarney on Tuesday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, the funeral will arrive at St Mary’s Cathedral on Wednesday at 10.00am for Requiem Mass at 10.30am. Burial will take place afterwards in the new Killarney Burial Ground.

The family has asked for donations, in lieu of flowers, if desired, to be made to Recovery Haven, Killarney.
