Lakers get to do it Howard’s way

Ron Howard comes with a very impressive CV with a background in both administration and coaching

Killarney’s St Paul’s Basketball Club has confirmed the appointment of Ron Howard as the club’s new youth development officer and head coach of the Scott’s Lakers national league side.

He will oversee and implement coach education and a structure designed to provide the best environment for juvenile players to learn the fundamentals of the game as the club is conscious of providing a clear pathway from its academy through to the adult team.

Ron comes with a very impressive CV with a background in both administration and coaching. He holds a BA in Sports Management and is currently pursuing his masters in the same field.

Regarded as a dynamic and inclusive teacher and communicator, he has coached at youth, collegiate and pro level internationally in Germany, Italy and China.

Ron, aged 40, is a native of Moreno Valley in California and played college basketball with Mayville State University.

“I am tremendously grateful for the opportunity to serve as the new head coach. I am deeply thankful for the warm welcome extended to my family as we embark on this new chapter together,” Ron said.

“I am excited to be part of a team that is focused on fostering a spirit of unity and growth. I am committed to bringing my passion, dedication and drive to the court”.
