A focus on traditional skills, with an emphasis on building and conservation, attracted a interested attendance to Muckross House and Gardens at the weekend as Killarney National Park played host to the event.

The attendance included Minister Malcolm Noonan who was briefed on the techniques and skills involved and given a demonstration by master craftsmen at work.
The Kingdom of Skills event was organised by the Irish Georgian Society, Kerry County Council and the Trustees of Muckross House, as part of the Architecture Kerry 2023.
It involved a demonstration of the key traditional building skills needed for the care and conservation of Kerry’s old buildings and guests were also treated to a guided tour of Muckross House.
Those in attendance were formally welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of Killarney, Cllr John O’Donoghue.
